Cybertheque - Take 2

Ok, have been thinking about the 'chaoticness' of this learning space. Still looking at using boxes, but of differing size and shapes, cubes as well as rectangular boxes, attached to and jutting out from, the cliff itself, with an entry at the cliff-top. Could be an engineering nightmare, but I'll worry about that later.
Possible plan view with ground lvl
Section view, against the cliff
Potential front view
Need to work on the internal 'chaos' and how to manifest that; balancing this with the practical needs of a learning space.

Post Assignment 2 - Update

Oh well, didn't too well in that one.

The tutor felt that I didn't capture the 'chaos' all that well from the Folie, and he is right, it really doesn't look like it has been smashed against the cliff and is a bit too conservative and staid. Need to work on that big time.

I put it down to still having trouble getting what is in my head on to paper or into CAD. Will be asking for help, that's for sure for the final assignment.

Assignment 2 Development...belated...

Doing things a bit round about here, but the following is the development process for my Project/Assignment 2 presentation.
First up, at the suggestion of our tutor, the idea of the crashed cubes took hold and ran with that, so see the presentation itself in the previous post.
Cube Jungle

But before that, I thought further about the 7 Principles of Learning Space Design I found earlier on in Week 2, and developed a graphical version, based on my own thoughts, which were for six, not seven:
Principles of Learning Space Design - according to Carol.
As a way to further determine what is needed in the learning space (or library, if you like), did a bit of 'mind-mapping' of sorts to define what happens in that space:

Learning space 'mind-map'
Thought a bit about people flow through the space, only the ground floor at first and based on my first 'plan':
Initial people flow investigation
Investigation into activities throughout building, on how many floors would you find each activity.
First drafts of ground and first floor plans, but still along way to go.
Initial ground floor plan
Initial first floor plan - incomplete

A rather late update......

Ok, this is a bit, well a lot, later than it should have been, but that's the way it is.

This is the link to the project due May 2.
